The National Council of the Slovak Republic adopted Act No. 54/2019 Coll. on the protection of whistleblowers against unlawful activities and amending and supplementing certain laws, which came into effect on March 1, 2019. Act No. 54/2019 Coll. on the protection of whistleblowers against unlawful activities and amending and supplementing certain laws (hereinafter referred to as the “Act”) regulates:
- the conditions for providing protection to individuals in employment relationships in connection with the reporting of criminal activity or other unlawful activities (hereinafter referred to as “unlawful activity”),
- the rights and obligations of individuals when reporting unlawful activity, and
- the establishment, status, and jurisdiction of the Office for the Protection of Whistleblowers (hereinafter referred to as the “Office”).
The employer/operator Kúpele Dudince, a.s., Kúpeľná 106/3, 962 71 Dudince, Company ID: 31642713, in accordance with the aforementioned, has issued an internal directive and implemented technical and organizational measures to adjust the procedures for receiving and handling notifications of unlawful activities. This directive also includes provisions regarding the rights of employees of the employer in connection with reporting unlawful activities they have learned about in the course of their employment. This directive is binding for all employees of the employer.
A notification under this Act may be submitted in writing, via email, or through the electronic portal via the website https://www.kupeledudince.sk/, specifically in the section “Data Protection,” where it is possible to submit a notification electronically through a contact form.
The responsible person is authorized, to the extent necessary for handling the notification, to formally request the individual who submitted the notification, the employer, as well as the affected individual, to provide cooperation in verifying the notification, all while specifying a reasonable time frame for providing such cooperation.
